Thanksgiving Break

I had a 3 day break from work (Thursday through Saturday) and all I can say it was not long enough! However, I still had a nice little break. My mom was over, so my better half cooked while we played games and just hung out.

We only really went shopping for Christmas decorations and stayed away from stores Thursday and Friday because I really do not like the hustle and bustle of a Black Friday/last minute shoppers. I went one time and that was good enough for me to know I won’t do it again! I don’t get the rush everyone else gets when people are cutting in front of you, you have to stand in line for hours, you may or may not get what you want, etc. I get zero pleasure out of the whole situation – Cyber Monday is more my style.

For Christmas decorations we went to Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Wal-Mart. I probably was most disappointed with Dollar Tree because normally they have cute little decorations (for $1) but not this time (maybe their good stuff will come in later). I feel like Wal-Mart has stepped their game up because we found tons of cute stuff. I like more of the traditional/classic colors for Christmas (gold/green/red) and they had a lot to choose from in those colors. Dollar General is usually a hit or miss. Last year and this year, we found a couple of things though that fit what we wanted. I do love Hobby Lobby as well but the store looked too busy to try over the break. I am always looking for inexpensive Christmas decorations because I like buying some new ones every year so if anything breaks, it is no biggie since it will be basically replaced. One thing that was done differently this year was we dressed in the elf matching pajamas while listening to music while we decorated. I think it is going to be our new tradition because it just made it a little more special.

Other than that, I basically bummed it. We started the whole Marvel movie series a little while ago, watching it in a timeline order (not by release date). I have always been a fan of super hero movies (I use to collect X-Men cards as a kid) but never watched every movie in the series. Maybe once it is completed, I will do a blog around the Marvel world.
